Accessibility
The SWRC are committed to ensuring that our service is accessible and inclusive to survivors of gender-based violence in Scotland. We recognise that not everyone has the same accessibility needs. To address this, we are committed to piloting an accessibility triage service, which is open to survivors who have additional communication needs. We hope that this service will ensure that everyone who is looking for information is able to do so.
The accessibility triage service will be held monthly on (DATE TBC)
The accessibility triage service will work on an appointment basis, and survivors will meet with one of the SWRC advocacy workers to discuss your situation. This appointment can be held via call or video chat. This appointment may be useful if you require additional support from a support worker, interpreter or have other needs that calling the helpline may not meet. If you are unsure how to use video chat functions such as Zoom, we can help talk you through this. Alternatively, if you have a support worker from another organisation, we can work with them to ensure you are set up and you can have your support worker present.
Please note, if it suits you best, you can still contact us through the helpline – our website has information on opening hours and availability. We would be happy to speak to you.
We work with Language Line routinely for interpreter services.
Please ask about our Accessibility Form – or call us on 0141 331 4183 to be sent a copy to complete. Please note that we will aim to respond to any enquiries within seven working days.
If you signify from your call, email or contact form that you need further support or information, our advocacy workers will arrange this for you.
